Charles Clement is the founder and lead instructor at Prep With Charles, a coaching platform built to help Africans overcome one of the biggest barriers to global opportunities: English proficiency exams.
Charles has always had a natural flair for the English language and an equally strong passion for teaching. Before starting Prep With Charles, he worked briefly as a lecturer, where he quickly gained a reputation for being an engaging, clear, and student-centered instructor. His classes were known for their simplicity, structure, and the way he could break down complex topics into concepts anyone could understand. The positive feedback he received during this time confirmed something important — he was built to teach.
His mission became even clearer when he saw how many Africans were losing opportunities, not because they lacked skill or potential, but because standardized tests like IELTS, CELPIP, PTE, TOEFL, and GRE were standing in their way. For many, these exams were the only thing stopping them from studying abroad, relocating, securing a visa, or unlocking international careers.
Charles decided to change that.
To prove that the strategies he teaches are not theory but tested and effective, he sat for the IELTS and the GRE himself — and aced both. His personal success, combined with his academic background and teaching experience, forms the backbone of the Prep With Charles methodology: simple, practical, exam-focused teaching that works.
Since launching the program, Charles has trained more than 450 students across multiple countries, with over 90 percent achieving their target scores. Many of his students have used their results to secure permanent residency, gain university admissions, apply for scholarships, land international jobs, and begin new lives abroad.
At the heart of his work is a genuine commitment to student success. Charles believes that people do not fail these exams because they are not intelligent enough. They fail because they have not been exposed to the right strategies, feedback, and support system. His coaching style bridges that gap by focusing on clarity, confidence building, and consistent improvement.
